The Clock Radio Designs of Marco Zambelli

Marco Zambelli was my father’s half-brother (from my grandfather’s first marriage) who was born on April 1. He worked as an industrial designer in the 1940s and 50s in the US and in Europe. He was a freelance stylist and was never associated with any particular company. His studio was known as Diamante Rosso (red diamond). He designed a variety of automobiles for multiple companies and always remained anonymous. He also designed products, including clock radios and alarm clocks. My father rarely mentioned him and apparently never saw him again after WWII. Marco went back to Italy in the late 1950s and passed away in the 1960s. This is a collection of his 2D work. Sadly, many of his designs were never produced as presented. Of course, this story and all of these images are due to my extreme personal interest in the history of automotive and industrial design of the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. all of which has inspired the fictional story of Marco Zambelli.
